Proving Parikh's theorem using Chomsky-Schutzenberger theorem
Parikh theorem was originally stated and proved by Rohkit Parikh in MIT research report in 1961. Many different proofs of this classical theorems were produced then; our goal is to give another proof using Chomsky-Schutzenberger representation theorem. We present the proof which doesn't use any formal language theory tool at all except the representation theorem, just some linear algebra.
متن کاملProbabilistic Analysis Using Theorem Proving
In this chapter, the authors first provide the overall methodology for the theorem proving formal probabilistic analysis followed by a brief introduction to the HOL4 theorem prover. The main focus of this book is to provide a comprehensive framework for formal probabilistic analysis as an alternative to less accurate techniques like simulation and paper-and-pencil methods and to other less scal...
متن کاملVerifying Invariants Using theorem Proving
Our goal is to use a theorem prover in order to verify in-variance properties of distributed systems in a \model checking like" manner. A system S is described by a set of sequential components, each one given by a transition relation and a predicate Init deening the set of initial states. In order to verify that P is an invariant of S, we try to compute, in a model checking like manner, the we...
متن کاملProbabilistic Analysis using Theorem Proving
Traditionally, computer simulation techniques are used to perform probabilistic analysis. However, they provide less accurate results and cannot handle large-scale problems due to their enormous CPU time requirements. Recently, a significant amount of formalization has been done in the HOL theorem prover that allows us to conduct precise probabilistic analysis using theorem proving and thus ove...
متن کاملTheorem Proving for the
This paper discusses the challenges of adding symbolic computation capabilities to a computer algebra system. Indeed, a simple expressions such as m × n can be evaluated to a full value when both m and n have known values. However, if one or both of them have no definite value, then most CASs treat them as symbols and a syntactic representation of some kind is returned. Most CASs do this withou...
